The Italian Language and culture School Il Sasso is located in the Renaissance town of Montepulciano, Tuscany, halfway between Florence and Rome. It is housed in a historic building in the heart of the city, with large bright classrooms, a conference room and a panoramic terrace. It is a small to medium-sized school with a high-quality profile, open all year round and attended by students of all ages from all over the world.

Il Sasso offers in person and online Italian courses, group courses and individual lessons, intensive courses (group course + private lessons), private tuition at the student's place and special Italian courses outside the classroom, for an experience of total immersion in the language and in the city life. There is a maximum number of 10 participants. The afternoon activities allow the students to get to know the area in the company of their teachers or with school staff, and to taste (or cook!) the local cuisine.

The main objective of the courses is to enable students, even those at beginner and elementary levels, to communicate in Italian. Not just grammar and vocabulary! Immersion outside the school environment in the real uses of the Italian language (at the bar, restaurant, post office or station, for example) allows students to immediately put the acquired strategies into practice and obtain immediate feedback on their communicative abilities.
