The gastronomy from Vicenza has got ancient roots, which mean tradition and a wide range of tastes.

Vicenza, in particular, is famous for the baccalà alla vicentina, a dish based on dried cod, that was already famous in 1500, which is served with polenta.

Other famous dishes are the risi e bisi (rice with peas), the pappardelle con gli asparagi bianchi (a kind of pasta served with a sauce made with white asparagus, typical of Bassano) and the lumache con il sedano di Rubbio (slugs in a celery sauce, served with polenta).

Among the various typical products, we want to remind you the Asiago cheese (either fresh or ripe), the white asparagus from Bassano, the black truffle from the Berici Hills, the honey, the mushrooms and the rice, of course, which is cultivated in Grumolo (a few Km from Vicenza).
