NATURE

The lagoon was very appreciated by the writer Ernest Hamingway too, who wrote his famous tale “Beyond the river, among the trees”, while observing its peculiar nature.

The area of the coast of Veneto which Caorle belongs to is rich in marshes and the lagoon is exactly the place of origin of the town. Despite the urbanization, the lagoon today occupies a very wide area that is a privileged environment for seagulls, little egrets, herons, cranes and coots.

The lagoon was very appreciated by the writer Ernest Hamingway too, who wrote his famous tale “Beyond the river, among the trees”, while observing its peculiar nature.

During a pleasant walk we also suggest you to visit the “Scogliera Viva” (the living cliff), Caorle seafront, an outdoor artistic gallery, rich in sculptures modelled in the rocks that form the seafront. In fact, every year in June, dozen of artists from all over the world meet here to give an artistic form to the seafront’s rocks.
