Undoubtedly the most famous show in Viareggio is the Carnival.

Every year, in spring, the town changes, the streets are decorated with flags, the masks and the papier-mâché giants invade the streets and the seafront for four weeks.

At the end of the parade, you can try some dainty dishes, based on fresh fish and you can even take part in one of the numerous masked parties, where dancing, jokes and fun are guaranteed.
