Taormina is situated on the southern coast of Sicily and faces the Ionian Sea.
This town has got a privileged position. At about 200 metres above the sea level, it has the appearance of a terrace, enriched by a beautiful landscape, where Mount Etna is the protagonist.
This town is chracterized by its cultural and naturalistic beauty and also by its good accomodation facilities and recreational activities, always accompanied by the typical Sicilian reception and helpfulness. Taormina has always been the destination of celebrated personalities, both coming from the world of culture and art.

-By plane: the nearest airport is the Fontanarossa international one, in Catania (55 Km away from Taormina), where the flies coming from the principal Italian airports and from different European cities get to. >From Catania you can easily reach Taormina: if you drive along the motorway A18, direction Messina, you will arrive about within an hour, or you will be able to use the direct bus line, which takes you to the town centre.

-By car: if you want to arrive from the North of Italy, you have to drive along the motorway A1 as far as Salerno; from here you have to take the motorway A3, that will lead you as far as Reggio Calabria, then leave the motorway in Villa San Giovanni-Sicilia and drive towards the port, where you will be able to take one of the many ferries that will take you to Messina: it is almost done!. Now you have to take the motorway A18 towards Catania and you can enjoy the landscape; in about half an hour you will be in Taormina. If you arrive from Catania, take the motorway A18, direction Messina and, if you come from Palermo, take the A20 as far as Messina and then the A18, direction Catania.

-By train: the Taormina station is one of the most beautiful in Italy, with its Sicilian Art Nouveau decorations. There are many trains coming from the North of Italy, that stop in Taormina.

-By bus: visiting Sicily by bus is more and more practical and convenient. In the centre of Taormina you can find the bus station, from where the frequent buses leave to reach the principal Sicilian towns, besides Rome and Amalfi, Bari, Brindisi and Taranto.
