Travel and Culture in Sicily
Milazzo’s headland is an enchanting environment due to the presence of a characteristic kind of fauna and flora.
For those who like walking, it could be interesting the rise of Trino mountain, a 20 minutes route that allows to admire one of the most fascinating landscapes of Sicily: Milazzo’s Cape, Eolian Islands, Peloritani and Nebrodi Mountains, Etna Vulcan.
The mountain’s slopes are covered by cultivations of olives and carrubes (ceratonia siliqua), while in the northeastern side you can find white elms (ulmus canescens), hawthorns (crataegus monogyna), myrtles (myrtus communis) and oaks (quercus dalechampii).
For those who love the sea, a fine trip could be sailing around the peninsula starting from “Vaccarella beach” through to “Tono bay”.
The environment of Milazzo’s cape is really unique and the beauty of the beaches and creeks continues under the sea too, rich of Posidonias and with several kinds of fishes.
Finally, from Milazzo you can easily reach Eolian Islands (Vulcano, Lipari, Salina, Stromboli, Panarea, Filicudi and Alicudi): an immersion in the beauty of nature and myth.
