Travel and Culture in Sardinia
Besides the beauty of the town, Alghero is a sought after touristic destination for who loves the sea because of the beauty of its sandy beaches and of its coasts, that are so rich in small bays and grottoes.
The mild temperatures which are present all year round allow a bathing season that begins at Easter and finishes late in October (we advise you to go to the beautiful Bombarde white sandy beach or to the small rocky inlets of Porto Conte and Capo Caccia that you can reach by sea, too).
Also the "Nettuno Grottoes" (near the Capo Caccia promontory)are accessible by sea.
Once you have arrived in Capo Caccia, you will find the Escala del Cabirol (with its 656 steps) that leads you to the entrance of the grottoes.
The ruins of the nuraghic civilizations are very evocative too, as the "Anghelu Ruju" necropolis and the "Palmavera"nuragh.
