Travel and Culture in Marche
We recommend you to visit the beautiful SS Peter and Paul’s Church, that contains a valuable painting inside: a Madonna with the infant Jesus and Saints by Federico Barocci and a wooden tabernacle with rich gildings (1600).
There is also an Art Museum that contains the works donated by the artist Franco Assetto, who is a lover of this area and has enriched the village’s public park with a monumental fountain, planned by him and called Water Sculpture. Of course, you cannot miss visiting the Castle and the characteristic cellars of Malatesta Palace that, during the siege periods, connected the castle to the mill for the flour supplying. In fact, we advice you to see the restored and still working water mill, of medieval origin, along the road that connects Carpegna to Lunano. Not far from the road, but in a higher position than the mill’s, plunged in a century-old oak-grove, you can visit the 13th century St Girolamo’s hermitage, dedicated to St Mary of the Graces.

Finally, always in the area around Frontino, you can visit Montefiorentino Monastery, realized in different periods between 1200 and 1500. Inside the monastery, in Counts Oliva Chapel, you can find the altar-piece painted by Giovanni Santi (father of Raffaello Sanzio).
