Travel and Culture in Lombardy
Lugano and its wonderful lake offer to its visitors a landscape and a contact with nature of rare beauty and harmony.
As we have already said, the charm of this town is due partly to the presence of Lake Lugano, which has a glacial origin and is two-thirds Swiss.
The lake extends on a 50 square km surface, it is 35 Km long and 3 Km wide, touching a 288 mt maximum depth.
The care of Lugano for the naturalistic and botanic heritage of its numerous and marvellous parks and gardens is everywhere known.
Therefore we would like to remind you to visit the Belvedere Garden (along the lake), Ciani Park (a green oasis a few steps away from the town), Ulivi Park (next to Mount Brè) and Florida Park (that extends along the lakeside).
Also St Grato Park is very charming, 10 Km far from Lugano: an oasis full of quiet that extends between St Salvatore and Mount Arbostora.
Moreover, near the town, you can find Villa Saroli Park and the Area Svago Brè, which are areas provided with many facilities both for children and adults.
