The most important one is the Norman Cathedral, that contains numerous works of art. Other churches to be visited in the town centre are: St Peter’s in Ripas and St Demetrio’s Church (or St Francis’ Church).

In the centre of the town you can see Ercole Square, that is considered the starting point of Tropea.
From the belvedere of Vittorio Emanuele lane you can admire St Leonard’s rock and the small St Mary island (today united to the coast), where you can find the Santa Maria dell’Isola sanctuary, that was an ancient Benedictine monastery.

If you walk along the charming streets of the old town centre, you will find Braghò Villa, in Boiano Street, a typical and beautiful patrician villa.

Finally in Troppa, near Tropea, you can see numerous urban structures belonging to the 17th and 18th centuries as, for example, Baroque palaces with big courtyards and majestic portals, that are preserved almost integrally.
