Its central position in curve of the gulf that takes its name from Salerno makes the city a point of reference for cultural and seaside tourism. Not by chance was it also called the “Queen of Poseidonia” referring to the name the Greeks gave to the vaste inlet, that later became “Sinus Paestamus” under the Romans.
Salerno has always been a sea town and preserves the adventurous spirit of mediterrean people, with its traditions and customs, its gastronomic traditions, that can be interpreted in an uncommon sense of hospitality that strikes and conquers the visitors.
