Cividale del Friuli
CIVIDALE is a charming little town of 10.000 inhabitants, rich in art and history. It is the Roman Forum Iulii which gave its name to the whole region.
After being the capital of the first Lombard Duchy in Italy, it was called Civitas Austriae by the Franks and later became the official seat of the Patriarcate of Aquileia. It boasts some of the most beautiful artistic treasures of the Early Middle Ages.
Its roads and lanes evoke images of by-gone days and its relaxing pace of life proves it as the best place to combine a language course with an unforgettable holiday.
The school LINGUEPER is specially addressed to adult people (18+) interested not just in learning the language, but also in getting in touch with local culture and daily life. They include 40 hours of lessons in class and approximately 60 hours of cultural and social activities that enable the students to improve their language knowledge in a short time.
Classes are small and are organised on different levels (from beginners to the advanced level). according to the students' knowledge of the language, established by a preliminary test.
Lessons take place in the morning and are held by teachers highly experienced in teaching Italian to foreigners.
The conversation-based approach adopted will allow even beginners to communicate in Italian from the very first day. Two class hours per day are dedicated to grammar, the remaining two classes to communication skills, vocabulary extension, as well as pronunciation practice.
Teaching materials will be provided during the course.
At the end of the course all students will receive a graded certificate of attendance.
A unique team of expert assistants will accompany the students throughout the afternoon and evening activities helping them to speak Italian all day long.
The exciting social and cultural programme includes: visits to art cities, museums, exhibitions, live concerts, films in the open air, folk festivals, dinner parties, visits to typical "wine-drinking" places and local productive activities.
Two full day guided trips will offer students the opportunity of discovering the historic-artistic-naturalistic beauties of the unspoilt region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. They usully include: one trip to the seaside and one trip to the mountains.
Students will live with local B&B families, having the advantage of being able to practice their Italian and meet new friends.
Lunch, which is in a restaurant with the other students and some assistants, is another excellent opportunity of practising the newly acquired language in a more informal environment.
