In Ragusa Ibla among the arts, culture, delicious food, enchanting landscapes and Montalbano locations you will find That's Italia, the school for Italian and Sicilian Languages and Cultures.
That's Italia is a new project. It was accomplished by native speaker Italian teachers. They are all qualified, experienced, passionate and aim at discovering Sicily as well as Italy from another point of view: not only as a tourist but also from a cultural and linguistic perspective.
That's Italia Language School aims to promote the Italian language and culture through courses, excursions and get-togethers.
The courses take place at the Antico Convento (Old Convent), in the gardens of Ragusa Ibla. Today it is also the centre for the Mediterranean School for Wine and Food (NOSCO), the exquisite Cenobio restaurant and the hotel Antico Convento. All schedules are arranged so that our students can organise their free time and plan excursions.
That's Italia! offers different types of courses for students to immerse themselves in Italian, to appreciate this language and to enhance their skills: sicilian dialect, cookery courses, cinema, art, literature!
The teaching method used is based on a communicative, dynamic, approach which encourages the students to use the language they learned in our classrooms. Our aim is to develop your communication skills as quickly as possible so lessons will be in Italian! Of course we will revert to English whenever we need to clarify or explain in detail.
The teachers are all native Italian speakers with a great command of the English language. They are skilled and experienced in this educational field. They create and modify the programme of the language courses according to the learner's interests and needs. In this way the main communication skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing will be enhanced.
